Rest, Dreams, and the Power of Receiving

This month in Mexico, I had big plans. I was going to work on my business, film content, and "get things moving." Yet, reality turned out much different than I had envisioned. Instead of hustling, I rested. I slept—a lot.

My time was spent catching up on much-needed rest and integrating the profound experiences I lived through during my four months in Peru.

Initially, I felt guilt creeping in, judging myself for not accomplishing what I’d planned. But then I realized: thisis exactly what I needed. Without slowing down and honoring my need to rest, I wouldn't have gained the clarity and realizations that now fuel my next steps. Rest isn’t a weakness—it’s a necessary pause to reconnect and realign.

The Dream That Changed My Perspective;

Last night, I had a vivid dream that left me with two simple, yet profound words:

Space and Receive.

Dreams are wild, aren’t they? They can feel messy, and impossible to describe, yet their messages often hold the deepest truths from our subconscious. As I woke up, these two words echoed in my heart.

It’s okay to take up space in this world.

Growing up, I didn’t feel that way. I was often shushed, silenced, and made to feel small. My voice felt unwelcome, my shine too bright for the space I was allowed to occupy. Fear held me back—fear of punishment, fear of not being good enough for the approval I craved from my parents.

But now, I understand. It’s not just okay to take up space—it’s necessary. It’s your birthright. So, to anyone who feels the same:

Take up space. Shine bright. Be unapologetically you. Speak your truth. Be bold, be loud, and own who you are. The world needs your light.

Second,

The Art of Receiving;

The second message, Receive, has also been a recurring theme in my life lately.

Last week, I met a kind man on the island who tried to give me small gifts. A bottle opener. A straight razor. A plastic children’s watch. Sunglasses. Each time, I politely declined, thinking, “I don’t need this.” When he offered to pay for my water, I again refused, saying, “I have cash.”

Six times, he tried to give me something. Six times, I said no.

It wasn’t until later that I realized the deeper meaning behind this exchange. By declining these small gifts, I was sending a message to the universe: I’m not open to receiving.

This was a wake-up call. How can I expect to welcome the bigger blessings the universe has in store if I resist even the smallest offerings? Receiving isn’t just about taking—it’s about honoring the giver. It’s about allowing someone the joy of offering something to you. By saying no, I was closing myself off, not just to material gifts, but to the flow of abundance itself.

Now, I choose to receive with an open heart, no matter how big or small the gift. I understand that every offering is a reflection of the universe preparing me for something greater. And I’m ready.

A Message for You

As you navigate your own journey, remember these two words:

Space: Take up all the space you need. Don’t shrink yourself to fit into places that don’t honor your light. Be unapologetically you.

Receive: Welcome life’s blessings with open arms. Say yes to the gifts—big or small—that come your way. By receiving, you allow abundance to flow freely, honoring both yourself and the giver.

This year has been full of incredible experiences for me, and I know there are even greater gifts ahead. For you, too. Let’s open our hearts to receive them fully.

With love and gratitude,
xo Kamila
